Royana and Gary Zeng unveil the Jia Concept Store in Shanghai: Located in the Lujiazui district near the Huangpu River, Jia is conceived as more than a showroom. Its name, derived from the Pinyin for home, establishes the project's emotional foundation: a place that bridges architectural rigor with the warmth and intimacy of daily life. Functioning simultaneously as a gallery, café, and spatial laboratory, Jia becomes a platform for exploring new possibilities of living through design.

The architectural narrative unfolds through a fluid, curvilinear language that gently guides visitors across a sequence of sensory environments. The journey begins at the Jia Café, where a sculptural beige travertine bar forms the spatial anchor. Its natural texture and calm tonality establish an atmosphere of understated elegance, inviting both solitary reflection and social exchange. GUBI Beetle chairs and carefully selected lighting compositions contribute to a refined yet relaxed scene, where everyday rituals are elevated through material and proportion.

Throughout the space, Gary Zeng orchestrates a precise relationship between floors, ceilings, and wall surfaces, composing a series of framed perspectives that enhance spatial rhythm. The iconic Butterfly Chair, with its light yet powerful silhouette, becomes a visual punctuation, reinforcing the sense of effortless sophistication embedded in the design language.

Deeper within the installation, the Jia+ Gallery emerges as the conceptual heart of the project. Here, the idea of  home is interpreted as an emotional and cultural construct. Set against warm-toned natural wood veneers, the white Pacha modular sofa by Pierre Paulin creates a soft, enveloping core, transforming the gallery into a space of calm introspection and healing. The environment is enriched by works from globally revered designers and architects such as Gio Ponti, Patricia Urquiola, Piero Lissoni, and Flemming Lassen, layering the space with intellectual depth and historical continuity.

A dedicated Wendelbo area forms another significant chapter of the Jia Concept Store. Celebrated during the opening with the presence of Wendelbo’s CEO Michael and Sales Director Sarah, this zone reflects a shared commitment to craftsmanship, material integrity, and timeless design. Wendelbo’s refined furniture language enters into a quiet dialogue with Royana's bespoke architectural systems, reinforcing a mutual respect for quality and restraint.
